Thank you for your article on networking. I recently met and interviewed someone in the movie industry, and it was a fabulous opportunity where we exchanged helpful information. At some point I began to wonder if I might be doing a little more for them than they were for me (and feeling a bit resentful), but your point #3 about giving more than receiving really helped me put it in perspective. I had not thought of it that way before. Thank you for reminding me that it is best to be in the black, whether it’s relationship currency or financial currency. Very helpful networking advice.

@ElegntCelebBlogger-Thanks. I’m glad we could help. I do know what you mean about being a bit resentful. I get the same way sometimes. It is when you look at things from a 10,000 foot viewpoint that it starts becoming clear. Over time the people who contribute the most get ahead while the people who only take stagnate. I’ve seen it time and time again that the people who care and give freely profit the most.
